Luca is the daughter of a witch and demon. After her demon father betrays them and her mother is murdered by her former coven members, she is "rescued" by a government agency that's aware her life is at risk also. The agency is also aware that Luca possesses a rare ability inherited from her mother, the ability to control blue flames that she can conjure up into a physical manifestation and use as a weapon. Adding to her value to them, she is a telepath too. All is known to the coven as well and who are searching for her.
She stays with the agency for a few years but when Grey, the agent she falls in love with fails to return her love, or so she thinks, she leaves and lives in hiding. When a dark evil begins to cover the land, an evil the agency can't control. Because of her powers, she is focibly taken from her life in hiding. It is Grey who leads the agents to her and plays the greatest role in her abduction. Together, they must fight the darkness all the while fighting emotions and feelings for each other.
The passive/aggressive nature of Grey and Luca's relationship makes for a complex subplot. The overall story is filled with great imagination and interesting characters both good and bad. This clearly intended to be a series and will make a fascinating one. It is a big departure from Kavanagh's sweet romances but just as entertaining. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.

Waiting for a series to come of these books. I loved everyone of the series and am looking forward to the new one coming out.

I read this book without knowing the writter, but it was very good.
I enjoyed it so much that I bought a second book.
Loved this book, it is well written and fast paced, has a bit of everything, romance, intrigue, mystery, kept me on the edge of my chair.
I hate writing reviews, but I know they are important, so here goes. I found the story pretty original and most of the characters were easy to identify with and understand. The parts where Izzy gets blackmailed by the twins, and then falls to blackmail by Sheela was kinda weak, but still a good book!
